"When I chased after money, I never had enough. When I got my life on purpose and focused on giving of myself and everything that arrived into my life, then I was prosperous."
~ Wayne Dyer
Ready For An Adventure?
A goal is something that's BEYOND where you are, and beyond what you normally do. It requires you to STRETCH outside of your comfort zone. Therefore, depending on how you define it, going for your goal can be described as either PRECARIOUS or ADVENTUROUS.
Positive achievements require positive attitudes which arise from positive affirmations.
Today's TQ Challenge: Stay Connected to The Rewards Within Each Goal.
Be EXCITED! Are you defining today's journey as precarious or adventurous?
Be MOTIVATED! Specifically, what words do you use when you tell your colleagues about your goals?
Be ENERGIZED! How can you redefine your current project in more positive and adventurous terms?
It's impossible to keep striving for something for which you no longer have any feelings. The more you stay in touch with the rewarding experience, and positive feelings that each goal delivers, the more motivated and committed you'll be to continue the pursuit. Each time you get in touch with the emotional benefits your goals produce, you'll feel energized and enthused to continue -- regardless of the distance to the goal. Celebrate your goals every day. Anticipation is half the fun, and most of the motivation for getting there.
Think about it. How well and how often do you actually DO Set Goals Factor 4I?
"I take time every day to imagine how terrific it will feel when my goals are actually realized."
A high commitment (4I rated 8 or better) suggests you are someone who remains emotionally committed to your goals. By recreating the positive feelings associated with your desired success, you stay connected to your dreams -- and are motivated to continue the journey. The frustration of the daily grind -- and the inevitable problems that arise -- are kept in check by the anticipated feelings of joy and pride you'll feel when your goal is realized. These positive expectations help you maintain an upbeat attitude -- and a strong determination -- to keep going when times get tough. When anyone else would give up, you keep running because you have your heart in the battle.
On the other hand...
A lack of commitment suggests you are someone who can easily forget why you're working so hard. The original passion that made your dreams so attractive tends to dissipate a little each day. You fail to reconnect to the positive anticipation of your desired goals. Once you lose touch with the benefits of accomplishing your goals, there's little left to justify the hard work still remaining to achieve them. Days become disheartening rather than rewarding, and eventually, the compelling picture of your goals simply fades away. Without heart in the battle, the war is lost before it's even begun.
What happens when you choose to do Factor 4I a bit more frequently? You have more power...
You stay in touch with the benefits of accomplishing your goals, so there's pleanty of passion to justify the hard work still remaining. You accumulate performance positives like "Excited, Motivated and Determined" -- immediately moving you towards the results you expect.
What happens when you fail to consistently do Factor 4I? You have less power...
When passion runs out, determination and commitment is lost. Negatives like "Detached, Unmotivated and Uninvolved" start to take their toll on your performance -- quickly moving you away from the success you want.
Now Ask Yourself This...
